Position: Distribution System Operator

• Must possess or have the ability to obtain a Class II Maine Water Distribution Operators License
• Experience working for a Public Water Supply desired
• Valid State of Maine Class C drivers license, clean driving record
o Must possess or have the ability to obtain a Class B Maine CDL
• No criminal history
• Required to be on call for emergency work
• Minimum of a High School Diploma

Position Summary: The Distribution System Operator is responsible for operation and maintenance of the water distribution system. The Distribution System Operator will provide customer service to District residents related to system operation, and may interface with contractors, representing the needs and interests of the District.
• Installs pipe, valves, hydrants, and other fittings usual to laying pipe lines
• Installs and repairs water lines
• Performs maintenance on pumping stations, water storage facilities and the water distribution system, which includes participation in the flushing program
• Repairs sewer lines as required
• Inspects, supervises, and assists installations by outside contractors as needed
• Removes, installs, maintains, reads, and occasionally assists in testing meters
• Performs equipment, road, yard, and building maintenance
