2022 MWUA & MeWEA Summer Outing

MWUA in partnership with MeWEA gathered with members and sponsors at the Cumberland Fairgrounds for their annual summer outing on Thursday, August 11, 2022. The day commenced with a two-hour instruction and live demonstration of “Cost Effective Use of Vacuum Excavation”. The day’s events had only just begun!

Next up, there was the ever-popular pipe tapping contest. This high energy, strenuous event involved a race against time. The two teams competing were Boothbay Regional Water District (the Mud Dogs) and Greater Augusta Utility District (GAUD Complex 2022). The winning trophy was awarded to the Mud Dogs (Boothbay Regional Water District) with an official time of 2:59:87! This wasn’t an easy task, so both teams deserve recognition for competing in this event.

After a brief break, members and sponsors participated in the cornhole tournament. This was a competitive, fun-filled contest that inspired lots of camaraderie and laughter. The champions of the tournament were Philip Tucker and Weston Alley.

The day’s events included snacks, a barbeque buffet, drinks, and sponsor booths. This outing has taken place for more than 45 years and is a favorite of the members and sponsors alike. Be sure to sign up for the summer outing next year as you don’t want to miss it!
