NEWEA’s Introducing Future Leaders to Opportunities in Water (InFLOW) scholarship program is now accepting applications for our 2024-25 program!
The InFLOW program aims to enhance diversity and inclusion in the water workforce by identifying promising students and young professionals from underrepresented groups who are interested in careers in the water industry.

More About InFLOW
InFLOW engages scholars and young professionals within community-based organizations to:
- · Solidify their interest in and awareness of opportunities for work in the water sector.
- · Increase probability for employment and long-term success working in water.
Selected candidates will be assigned a mentor from NEWEA’s membership for the duration of the program. The program will take place from November 2024 – May 2025 and include monthly virtual programming, as well as in person programming at the 2025 Annual Conference & Exhibit.
There are two potential paths that either current students or young professionals can apply for:
STEMpath
A university undergraduate or graduate student from a historically underrepresented ethnic and racial group who is pursuing an education and/or career in one of the following disciplines: Engineering (all), Environmental Sciences, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, STEM/Charter Academies, Public Health
CareerTech
A student attending any Vocational Schools, Certificate Programs, Trade School or adult education classes related to science/technology, or an employed professional looking to engage in a career change involving: Communication, Facilities Management, Operations, Engineering Business Development, Laboratory, Adult Education, Mechanical.
